I thought my first post should be a tag of some description to give you a good idea what my general taste in books is, however I take eclectic to a whole new level with books and music so I am not sure this will be much help.
I really love this tag, I have read a few other bloggers' posts and I just think it's a good'un, props to whoever came up with this one.

I don't have a series per say but I do have a book which I have wanted to read forever but I just can't get myself through the first chapter; The Life of Pi. I know this book really is a classic at this point and my Dad has been nagging me to read it for years but I just find it kind of boring, I know that once I eventually get past the first few pages I will love it but until then...
I don't know if it gets more popular during the festive season, but I am always in the mood to start re-reading Harry Potter in the Winter months; there is nothing better than the chapters describing Hogwarts in the snow.
I obviously loved Harry Potter when I was younger but I don't think that the series are necessarily Children's books, there are two series I read as a little one which resonated with me. The Milly-Molly-Mandy series by Joyce Lankester Brisley and The Worst Witch series by Jill Murphy; both make me feel super nostalgic and give me the warm and fuzzies.
I love a thriller or a book which gets your adrenaline pumping; I really enjoy the Sapphire Dubois trilogy for this, especially the first two books. I enjoyed Sapphire's character and I found her story the right balance of exciting action sequences and story development.
I get kind of sick of seeing the Girl Online trilogy at the front of every single book store in existence, well or any other YouTuber book. I understand that these books become really popular but I wish something new would be in the window displays, I can think of a handful of authors who have worked seriously hard and deserve that kind of recognition.
Okay if you follow me on Twitter you will probably see this one coming but I adore the Either Side of Midnight series by Tori de Clare. Not only is she the most kind, lovely person she writes a killer novel. The third book is due out any minute now and I cannot wait!
So I kind of hate to do this but Crystal Whisperer by Camilla Monk, the third book in the Spotless series. I just listened to the audiobook and I felt kind of underwhelmed, I don't feel like much happened and I wasn't in to March and Island's relationship development over the book. I don't want to spoil it for anyone who hasn't already read it but it felt like they only took a singular baby step forward in the grand scheme of things and Island spent most of the book cowering behind March.
This is an easy one for me The Perks of Being a Wallflower by Stephen Chbosky; I won't go in to detail about it but this book really resonated with me which meant it wasn't an easy read but I felt so fulfilled when I finished it.
I think for a book to be beautiful it has to be quite simple yet effective in it's message, for this reason I think I will go with the play A Doll's House by Henrik Ibsen; it is short but the messages about feminism are really powerful.
Is it cheating if I say Harry Potter for this one? I can't think of any other book that transported me so vividly to an entirely new world. It truly is an incredible series that shaped my childhood.
This is a really tough one because I love the classics; I studied Victorian Literature for a period of time, I think I am going to go for a 1960s classic The Collector by John Fowles. I could honestly spend hours analysing this text it is so fascinating to me, if you like it I would give Notes on a Scandal by Zoƫ Heller go, similar themes and a very interesting read.
I would love to hear what some of your answers would be for this tag, leave a comment and let me know.
